Jewelry Care Tips
-
Keep jewelry clean and dry
Remove your jewelry before swimming, showering, washing dishes, or cooking. I also recommend removing your jewelry before working out or any other activity where you might get sweaty.
-
Keep jewelry away from cosmetics
Apply lotions and perfumes before putting on jewelry. Allow the products to dry before putting your jewelry on. I recommend removing rings before washing your hands or applying hand sanitizer.
-
Clean your jewelry with a soft cloth
Silver naturally tarnishes over time, and this is exacerbated by exposure to moisture. If you want to prevent tarnish, keep your jewelry away from water, and store in an airtight bag when not wearing. If your jewelry does begin to tarnish, clean gently with a cleaning cloth.
-
Do not submerge jewelry in cleaning liquids
Do not submerge your jewelry with natural stones or wood in cleaning liquids or ultrasonic cleaners. These work great for hard stones like diamonds and sapphires, but can easily damage soft and porous stones like turquoise.

A special note about white buffalo
If you are like me, you’re a big fan of white buffalo stones in jewelry. If you’re like me, you’re also probably only 50% committed to the care tips outlined above. I get it! However, white buffalo is a porous and sensitive stone. If it’s exposed to detergents, hand sanitizers, or cosmetic products, it WILL change color. Please, to keep your white buffalo looking its best, ensure you protect it as much as possible.

Most importantly
Wear your pieces frequently and happily! Your jewelry is made to be enjoyed. Take it on adventures, and send me pictures! I’d love to see your pieces in the wild.
